My background is in the classical dressage training system …
training horse and rider in harmony. I have a passion for
dressage and the utmost respect for the amazing nature and
spirit of the horses we work with.
I have worked with a variety of breeds emphasizing the correct
way of going to produce athletic horses that are supple,
balanced and relaxed in their work. I have trained horses to the
advanced level, and schooled Grand Prix horses, including a
Canadian Grand Prix Champion and a Swarovski Canadian
World Cup Finalist. I trained with 3-time Olympic dressage
rider and Olympic Bronze Medalist, Gina Smith, from
Franklands Farm in Brockville, ON for several years.
My students have shown successfully at Gold and Silver
Dressage Shows and eventing competitions. My teaching style
has produced winning horse and rider partnerships, qualifying
for provincial championships.
I have a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of
Guelph and was Manager with the Canadian Pari-Mutuel
Agency where I provided regulatory expertise on equine drug
control issues and published regulations regarding Exercise
Induced Pulmonary Hemorrhage (EIPH) in racing horses.
I am currently working towards my Competition Coach
Specialist (Advanced) Certification with Equine Canada.
